Recently, Accurate Superior Scale and W H Scale Co. partnered with Allmetal Recycling, a multi-site scrap metal recycling facility based in Kansas City, to upgrade their scrap metal weighing system infrastructure. Allmetal had previously standardized Avery Weigh-Tronix products across multiple locations, utilizing models such as the ZM303 paired with the XR2000 Remote Display alongside floor scales.
When one of Allmetal’s new locations required a weighing solution that provided easier connectivity and visibility options, a ZM223 Weight Indicator was recommended and installed. The new ZM223 replaced the ZM303 indicators and XR2000 remote displays, offering a fully programmable networked weighing system with multiple built-in applications and simple network connectivity.

Following a short evaluation period, the results drove a broader rollout. W H Scale Co. replaced legacy indicators and remote displays across several Allmetal locations, ultimately installing thirty-seven ZM223 units’ company wide. The installation did not take long because everything networked quickly, reducing downtime at the facilities.
Previously, some sites relied on camera systems that were used to capture weight data from the XR2000 remote display paired with the ZM303 indicators to improve visibility. With the large and bright displays on the ZM223, the XR2000 remote displays were no longer necessary, reducing equipment costs and minimizing maintenance.
