Over the last 50 years Avery Weigh-Tronix has built our reputation around the Weigh Bar®. Our products are known for their reliability and accuracy, and we continue to iterate on our successful product lines. So, it may have come as a surprise to our US distributors and end customers when we brought over our ZT Digital Load Cell to the US market in 2024.

The choice to offer the ZT Digital Load Cell does not mean that we are moving away from the Weigh Bar®. In fact, we are incredibly proud of the innovations we have made to our technology, and it is just that pride in our history of innovation that we decided to bring the ZT Digital Load Cell to the US. We are committed to expanding our product line to ensure our distributors and OEM partners have the right tool for any job while guaranteeing the quality and reliability Avery Weigh-Tronix is known for.

So, to help with this expanded toolkit, we wanted to take some time and expand on some of the differences between our Weigh Bars® and our ZT Digital Load Cells.

What is the Weigh Bar?®
Weigh Bars® are Avery Weigh Tronix signature weight sensor. Coming in a variety of sizes with different connection methods and constructed using steel alloy bars and a Wheatstone Bridge. Our Weigh Bars® are known for their durability and accuracy.

What is the ZT Digital Load Cell?
The ZT Digital Load Cell are Avery Weigh Tronix answer to project specifications that mandate SST Digital Compression load cells. Hermetically sealed and easy to install, these digital load cells are great for situations where Weigh Bars® may not be feasible.
