A weighbridge used for trade must be re-verified at least once every twelve months under the Non-Automatic Weighing Instruments Regulations 2016. We recommend six months for high throughput sites running more than 80 vehicles a day, and twelve months for general industrial use. Impact damage, relocation, repairs or a change of audit regime all shorten that interval.
UKAS scale calibration is performed under ISO IEC 17025 by an independently assessed laboratory, using test weights traceable to the National Standards of Mass. It does not last for a fixed period. A certificate records the condition of the instrument on the day it was tested, and validity ends with movement, repair, impact or the interval your audit regime requires.
