Summary
Avery Weigh-Tronix is a global leader in the weighing industry and is currently looking for a full time Field Service Technician in Sarnia, ON. The ideal candidate will perform or assist with set up, installations, repairs and maintenance of scales and related products.
Responsibilities:
Advise customer personnel of proper equipment operation and basic maintenance procedures.
Analyze routine equipment problems and make field corrections, often working independently.
Troubleshoot, repair and calibrate industry related products such as truck scales systems, floor scales and bench scales without assistance as skills and training permit
Responsible for resolving first line customer service issues and accurate completion of documentation and related service reports.
Lead efforts to modernize, upgrade and convert customer existing equipment.
Operate heavy duty equipment such a as overhead crane and driving a test truck carrying 10,000kg of test weight.
Perform system and equipment installations, calibrations and preventative maintenance duties as required.
Ensure customer uptime requirements are met and that work at assigned accounts is completed on time.
Submit all accurate and completed paperwork on a daily basis, maintains a close professional relationship with external/internal customers.
Interface with Avery Weigh-Tronix sales employees to meet customer requirements.
Comply with ISO & Measurement Canada standards when required by the customer.
Assist in collaboration with Sales in effort to modernize, upgrade customer’s existing equipment.
Maintain productivity levels as determined by the organization.
Work to ensure an atmosphere of teamwork, and participate with a positive attitude toward obtaining team objectives.
Ensure vehicle service and maintenance requirements are met, comply with all laws while driving the vehicle.
Comply with all company policies and procedures and Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental program.
Attend company training sessions as requested.
Other duties as assigned.
Profile:
Class 5 Drivers License is required
Class 3 License (preferred)
1 year of experience with mechanical and/or electronic service, preferably in the scale industry
Heavy Duty Mechanic and Automotive Mechanic profiles (preferred)
Previous experience as a Technician/Mechanic on the road in a heavy industrial setting (preferred)
