Avery Weigh-Tronix is proud to launch the latest generation of its  leading edge retail PC scales. The new MPi hardware platform significantly enhances and improves the performance of its MP series of retail scales.

The product range continues to focus on the "Fresh Profits" theme for the product - maximise sales and reduce costs for supermarket operations. The new platform has enhanced performance from the printer with class beating 150mm / sec print speed and maximum label sizes of 275mm. This ensures operators remain focussed on the customer and are not waiting around for labels to be printed.

The customer displays have also been upgraded to bright mono graphic displays. This allows programmable cross promotional messages to be displayed to the customer maximising sales from the counter.

The touch-screen design has also been improved. The latest generation touch-screen technology has been added, as well as a silicon seal around the screen. This improves the robustness of the touch-screen in the harsh supermarket fresh food environment.

As an option the unit now has the latest generation of RF network interfaces. This includes a specification to 802.11b/g and includes all latest security options.

In addition to updating the MP hardware, Avery Weigh-Tronix has also introduced a new application to the software suite, Bakery Print Manager. This module greatly simplifies the daily task of generating pre-pack product labels in a busy bakery department, maximising the cost of ownership for the supermarket operation.

The MPi hardware also continues to be an attractive platform for the Value Added Resellers (VAR). These partners provide a focus for solutions for the specialist independent sector. New hardware and software changes within the platform eases the development task for these third parties porting their software, reducing time to market for key partners. A model specifically targeted to the VAR sector, the MP202, has been introduced to the product range.  It offers a secondary weight display, simplifying software development.

Finally, the MP also offers comprehensive flexible solutions for counter service, self serve, traceability, home-meal replacement, pre-pack and counter price ticketing solutions.
