The Avery Weigh-Tronix medium duty range of weigh-feeders have been designed to meet the arduous conditions that can be experienced in medium to heavy industry. A rigid outer frame carries an inner chassis which in turn carries the weight pick up assembly, idlers, head and tail drums and the conveyor belt.

Removal of two support legs allows for easy belt changing without complete machine breakdown. Horizontal surfaces are kept to a minimum to avoid material build-up and the direct load cell pick up of the weigh idlers removes the necessity for levers and externalrestrains.

The majority of applications require that the feeder delivers a constant rate of feed from a feed hopper located above the machine. For this application the material is fed onto the belt through a fixed profile plate. The product of weight on weigh length x belt speed is actual feed rate.

This feed rate is compared with the desired rate and the belt speed is modified accordingly. If necessary, the machines can be fitted with stainless steel contact parts and food quality belts, or construction can be completely in stainless steel depending on industry requirements.
